Geely introduces EX5 and EX2 electric car models for 2026

Geely EX5 and EX2 electric cars offer range, features, and affordability, with prices starting under $300 million IDR.

Geely is ramping up its electric vehicle (EV) offerings with the introduction of the EX5 and EX2 models for the 2026 production year. These models, which promise impressive specifications and affordability, are now available for Indonesian buyers with prices starting under IDR 300 million for the EX2 and around IDR 465 million for the EX5. Here’s what potential buyers need to know about these cars, their pricing, and current promotions available at Geely showrooms.

Geely EX5: Targeting long-range EV users

The EX5 is Geely's higher-end offering in its new EV lineup. The model comes in two variants:

  • EX5 Max: Offers an impressive driving range of up to 490 kilometers per charge.
  • EX5 Pro: Slightly below the Max with a driving range of 495 kilometers.

Both versions come with two interior color options, white and black, and exterior colors including white, black, green, gray, and silver. The choice of colors does not affect the pricing—a significant perk for those prioritizing customization without additional costs.

The pricing for the EX5 starts at IDR 465 million for the Pro variant and IDR 505 million for the Max variant. Current promotional offers allow these prices to drop further, giving buyers a chance to pay below IDR 500 million for the top variant. Financing options are also attractive, with down payments (DP) starting at IDR 30 million and installment plans that span up to six years.

Geely EX2: Compact, affordable, and versatile

The EX2 is aimed at the entry-level EV market, providing affordability without compromising essential features. This smaller electric car is suitable for city driving and short trips, but it still delivers impressive performance with a range exceeding 300 kilometers.

Pricing for the EX2 starts at IDR 239.9 million for the Pro variant and IDR 269.9 million for the Max variant. Like the EX5, the EX2 comes in a range of six exterior colors, including standout options like pink and blue, alongside standard shades such as silver, gray, and white. Interior options include either white or gray.

Promotions for the EX2 are likewise appealing. Buyers benefit from minimal down payments starting at only IDR 20 million, with installments beginning at just IDR 2.5 million per month.

Included perks and warranties

Geely is offering a suite of add-ons with both the EX5 and EX2 models, making them even more attractive to potential EV buyers. These perks include:

  • A free wall charger for home installation.
  • A portable charger.
  • Free window tinting film.
  • A complimentary carpet set.
  • Temporary road permits and plates while waiting for permanent registration.

Warranty options address EV-specific concerns, particularly with battery life. Buyers can choose between a lifetime warranty on the battery or an 8-year warranty paired with free service for the same duration. This flexible approach provides peace of mind to buyers concerned about long-term maintenance costs.

Charging convenience

Both models feature a rapid charging capability, with public EV fast chargers (SPKLU) allowing a battery to go from 30% to 80% in just 25–30 minutes. For at-home charging via the included wall charger, a full charge takes approximately 7 hours, making overnight charging a convenient option for users.

Promotions and financing options at a glance

To make ownership accessible, Geely is extending several promotional offers, including:

  • Zero percent interest financing for 1-2 years.
  • A 50:50 payment scheme, where buyers pay 50% of the price upfront and the remaining balance one year later.
  • Flexible down payments, starting as low as 15% of the car’s total price.

Of note, the booking fee for an EX5 or EX2 is just IDR 1 million, with all transactions processed transparently through official Geely accounts to ensure security.

Real-world affordability

For cost-conscious buyers, the operational costs of the EX5 and EX2 are particularly compelling. With electricity costs at around IDR 5,000 per kilowatt-hour, the long-range models significantly undercut the operating expenses of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, the annual vehicle tax stands at a remarkably low IDR 100,000, minimizing ownership costs further.

Where to buy and test drive

Stock for both models is reportedly plentiful at Geely’s My Slippy showroom on Jalan Legend Esarman, opposite Mall Taman Anggrek in Jakarta. Interested customers can contact the team for inquiries, test drives, or further information using the official WhatsApp number. Both EX5 and EX2 models are available for test drives at the showroom, allowing potential buyers to directly compare the Pro and Max variants.

Alternatively, Geely offers the option for test drives at home, ensuring flexibility for those who can’t make it to the dealership. The automaker also facilitates trade-ins, adding further convenience for buyers looking to switch to electric vehicles.

The bigger picture: Why Geely's EV push matters

Geely’s aggressive pricing and promotional strategies position it as a strong contender in Indonesia’s burgeoning EV market, especially amid rising fuel prices. By targeting different customer segments with the compact EX2 and the long-range EX5, Geely is broadening access to affordable and sustainable transportation. For buyers ready to embrace the EV transition, these models make a compelling case.
